Beyond Boundaries in Glasgow - A Holistic Approach to Workplace Design
On the 2nd of November we truly activated our Showspace in Glasgow to share our insights into diversity, equality, and inclusion with the local workplace community. Partnering with Benholm and Liquidline, this event was highly anticipated and very popular - “We were delighted with the turnout, the involvement of our expert panellists and it has been a pleasure collaborating with the team at Benholm & supported by Liquiline for our first successful partnered event.” Explained Joan Wright, A&D & End Client Account Manager at Spacestor.
The event included a short but insights-packed panel discussion with Simah Aslam, Workplace Design Manager at abrdn, Fiona Doring, CEO of Impact Arts, and Hazel Houliston, Senior Design Manager at NatWest who discussed the importance of designing with accessibility in mind from the initial visioning of the project and highlighted the crucial value in creating a strong business case for investing in the inclusion and equity of employees.
Benholm ran a hands-on Terrarium workshop where guests had the opportunity to craft their own mini ecosystem and take home as a reminder of the day’s emphasis on harmonizing nature and design in the workplace. They also explained the importance of nature’s role in the office to improve air quality, optimise aesthetics and improve mood.
Our Glasgow Showspace is located in the open plan area of Impact Arts where have defined and created spaces using our architectural furniture. Aeonica niches for sheltered work, a Railway Carriage for impromptu small meetings, Bleachers for collaborative innovation and Palisades for a minimalistic division of space. Impact Arts is a charity which enhances lives through art, and we are thrilled to have partnered with them in this Beyond Boundaries event.
