Waypoint Investment Partners, a successful Canadian investment firm, asked local architect firm Studio JCI to harmonise sophisticated interiors within 5,000 square feet on the top level of a 6-storey building in downtown Toronto.

It’s evident that the impact needed to provide a plethora of workspace opportunities. There are the ubiquitous meeting rooms that are essential when speaking to ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI), but Studio JCI have incorporated agile working in to the office by offering open-concept collaborative spaces, plenty of relaxed lounge areas to catch up informally with colleagues, and a stylish kitchen area for people to relax in whilst eating their lunch.

Whilst the interior design incorporates a lot of linear shapes, hallways corners have been softened with curved wood edging that enables clients and employees to flow effortlessly throughout the office. To prevent the decoration seeming stark and cold, the curved wood has been textured to emit varying shades of depth, light and shadow.

In what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, the design aesthetic for this investment firm has been softened with the introduction of curves; the suspended light fixtures are circular as are the kitchen counters with their soft fluid edges.

The colour palette selection is bright and airy: natural white oak panels, whitewashed concrete ceilings and gleaming glass partitions and tables.

Studio JCI have embroidered light in to every room. Floor to ceiling windows ensure that employees have access to natural daylight and each room houses glass partitions that enable the viewer to see through the full length of the office, thus maximising space.
