To accommodate for the increasing number of staff, cloud communication company Twilio relocated their San Francisco headquarters to a large and spacious two floor 90,000 sqft workspace.

With the help of design firm Blitz, Twilio's new workspace is a fantastic collaborative space filled with plenty of breakout points and working areas too. Twilio is a communications platform service company that was founded in 2007 by Jeff Lawson, Evan Cooke and John Wolthuis. The service allows software developers to make calls and text using their API web service. The aim was to create a space that reflects the company's culture and an office that was innovative and flexible to suit every employees' needs. Throughout the space, you'll notice simply structured walls designed with unconventional materials that add character to the space. These walls create semi-enclosed spaces that Twilio call "un-rooms" - simple yet effective rooms with no doors or ceilings used for collaboration or informal meetings.

Surrounding these unique rooms are vibrant break out areas with soft seating a large kitchen and dining space, custom sit-stand workstations offering different ways of working in an open workspace and a welcoming reception area with Twilio's values proudly displayed on their wall. One room we love within this workspace is the cafe - a dynamic part of the workspace that can be used for multiple events or meetings with state of the art integrated AV system and 30 subwoofers for presentations and more!

The floor to ceiling walls of windows also enhances the amount of natural light flooding and bouncing off the natural and raw walls with exposed materials complete with the brand's colour theme of vibrant reds and denim blues too. We admire the openness of the workspace, this cleverly designed headquarters encourages employees to be more agile and creative with no limitations to working in traditional booths and desks.
