Cool Workspaces
Embodying a sense of warmth, thoughtfulness and purpose, Norwest Venture Partners' new offices in San Francisco is a space to match the way the company operates.
With a home base in Palo Alto and a growing presence in San Francisco, Norwest have worked with Rapt to create a second office in San Francisco's exclusive South Park neighbourhood that's flexible, cross-functional and welcoming.
The space has been designed to preserve openness and warmth, pulling sunlight into every part. The reception desk has been designed like a jack knife, and can convert to a registration area for events. A living room with inlaid leather flooring and warm lighting lies beyond this, with a fireplace and chairs for the firm's characteristic fireside chats. Glass rooms allow natural light to flow through the space, and provide private areas for conferences, meetings and calls.
In the central lounge are handmade brass and marble side tables, a beautiful pendant light which illuminates the space, and custom wood tables including high-top hoteling stations and a credenza.
Details influenced by hospitality and residential design conspire to create a welcoming, sophisticated space that supports the way people like to work and meet. In line with the firm's value of supporting the community, the space features furniture created by local artists and industry partners. With the new space, Norwest can do more of what they do best, helping young entrepreneurs take their businesses where they want them to go.
