In the world of work, the Adecco Group is the world's leading provider of temporary staffing, permanent placement, career transition and talent development. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, it is the world's second largest Human Resources provider and a Fortune Global 500 company. They have 35,000 employees, in over 60 countries at over 5000 locations globally.

The Adecco Group was recently ranked seventh best workplace in the world among thousands of companies, according to the Great Place to Work® survey, reinforcing the HR-solutions provider’s reputation as one of the most attractive and rewarding global employers. Employees highlighted a welcoming, friendly and nurturing work environment where they can be themselves and are treated equally. As part of this focus on employee happiness, they understand that a great workplace design and feel can enhance staff's satisfaction and productivity.

We were recently privileged to work with Fabric Interior Design + Architecture and Ethos Interiors in the fit out of their London location, where the building was designed by none other than esteemed architect Norman Foster. Situated on the 2nd floor, the windows look out over the heart of the vibrant Spitalfields Market. The impactful design starts right at the reception of their new space, with a double-height, light-filled atrium, with biophilia abounding: a moss wall, an elegant silver birch and a grand pendant light overflowing with hanging plants.

Throughout their breakout area, several configurations of our Palisades II are used to divide and shape the space. With their mid-century design style, the 3D run of Palisades was designed into this space to provide a visual barrier across the central, glass atrium without blocking out the natural sunlight. It also provides additional storage with the cupboards below as well as accommodating additional biophilia. Also incorporated into these custom Palisades pieces are some soft-seating nooks, designed to provide a serene and quiet break. The stepped castellations on the far right and left are designed to fit seamlessly with the blossoming silver birches.

Designed to create a feeling of 'architecture within architecture', a different, 2D style Palisades construction is used elsewhere in the breakout area to essentially create a separate room within the open plan space. With the addition of large acoustic panels, MFC accessories and planting shelves, it provides visual and acoustic privacy to the collaboration area at the centre of the configuration.
