Workspace of the Week - TripADeal, Byron Bay
With its bohemian lifestyle, subtropical climate and enchanting sunsets, TripADeal offices emulate the laidback approach to life in Byron Bay.
Online travel company TripADeal had a simple brief: to use design principles that reflect the brand’s identity in an honest, humbling aesthetic.
Hot Black Interiors have encapsulated the tropical feel of a beach holiday in a workspace by using raw materials such as soft timber, raw concrete and earthy rope.
TripADeal’s success lies in providing bucket list experiences at affordable prices, so the interior design looks affordable yet professional and styled without being overly fussy.
Byron Bay is known for entertaining creatives along its south-easterly shoreline; an abundance of musicians, writers, designers and film-makers live in the surrounding areas. With this in mind, Hot Black Interiors have added a creative touch in the form of rope swings but have focused primarily on modern workspace trends such as agile working.
The office is predominantly open plan, encouraging a customisable experience in line with the TripADeal’s business model. Whether it’s a team meeting or large project, each creative worker has the opportunity to custom-build their workspace for their design needs.
It’s evident that a laidback atmosphere was important for this Australian workspace. The brand’s signature turquoise logo represents the days spent surfing on the crystal clear waters.
Each space is minimalist and tidy, with the theory being that a tidy space = a tidy mind. Clutter has been shown to affect workers’ productivity so it was crucial that the office was organised and visually attractive so that employees feel comfortable and uncluttered whilst working.
The small yet flexible workspace perfectly mimics TripADeal’s authentic stance on ‘offering something for everyone’. Airy, natural and uncluttered, this is one Australian office that lets you leave your creative stamp wherever you sit.
